After being kidnapped by a Mexican cartel, a misunderstood tourist looks to fit in by helping the cartel rob Mexico’s most dangerous drug lord, throwing him into a world of drugs, crime, and rival gangs. 

LOGAN JACKSON (30), a misunderstood loner searching for belonging, travels to Mexico hoping to make a few friends. Finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, Logan is kidnapped by a gang of vigilantes known as Los Aztecas led by CRIS LLANTADA (30), an out-of-place hero thrust into the role of leader in the wake of his tyrannical father's death. Cris reluctantly takes Logan along for the ride as Logan helps Cris escape danger and the hands of the Federale officers, CABRERA (50s), a surly commander, weeks away from retirement, and TORRES (30s), a go-get-'em rookie.

Cris promises to grant Logan his freedom after he helps Los Aztecas rob RICARDO LLANTADA (30s), the most dangerous narco in Mexico, who's also Cris' older brother. Little does Logan know Cris is using Logan as the frontman for the robbery to keep his own identity secret, thus creating the myth of El Güero. Cris realizes they've stolen a shipment of drugs and not the money they anticipated, and his mentor pressures him to sell the cocaine for the money, which isn't the direction Cris wants for Los Aztecas. Ricardo sets out to find and kill Logan with the forced help of MARGARITA NERI (30s), Cris' ex-lover and cutthroat leader of the all-female biker gang from Michoacan known as Las Adelitas. Logan's offered his freedom but chooses to stay and help finish the job because, for once in his life, he feels like he belongs. When the plan to sell the cocaine backfires, leaving a trail of death and destruction, Cabrera and Torres grow closer to finding "El Güero." Ricardo learns of Cris' involvement, and Logan discovers Cris has been using him. Logan steals the cocaine and tries to sell it on his own to prove his worth, leading Ricardo right to him and Cris. The shit hits the fan when a slimy small-time dealer moves in and steals the drugs, which causes a shootout where Logan is shot and presumed dead.

Cris is carted off to be executed. Logan wakes up and has the realization that gaining the love and friendship of others starts by loving yourself. Logan saves Cris, and they make up. Cris vows to use Los Aztecas to do the right thing for Mexico, starting with stopping Ricardo and destroying the drugs. An epic shootout ensues where Ricardo and his henchmen are defeated, and the Federales arrive. Cabrera shoots Torres, and we learn Ricardo and Cabrera have been working together all along. Logan takes a bullet for Cris, proving his love, loyalty, and friendship. An injured Margarita destroys the cocaine and shoots and kills Cabrera saving Cris and Logan's lives. It's just another day in cartel country.
